Job Seeking

If you are in a situation where you need to leave your current job, below are links to some of the biggest job seeking sites in Australia.

The process of finding a new job goes something like this:

  •  Find the best places to look (like the below websites), major or local newspapers, friends and contacts, etc.

  •  Look at the selection criteria and work out if you have a realistic chance of winning an interview (also, bear in mind that it can be useful to practice).

  •  Contact the prospective employer and find out a bit about the job to see if it is what you want, and find out if the employer has any preference for short applications or full descriptions of what you can offer.

  •  Learn all you can about the organisation and what it does, and put your resume together - make sure that you provide all contact details, two or more referees, and demonstrate how you can address the requirements in the ad

  •  If you are called for an interview make sure you've studied up on the organisation.  One of the best ways to do this is find If they have a website and visit it.
