It is is not cut and dried exactly where OH&S principles apply within a home working environment. Generally speaking, OH&S will only apply to the work area.

However, in the case of an accident occurring in other parts of the home during the course of work, possible liability would be determined by either an inspector or the workers' compensation insurer.

It is possible that another area of the house could be deeemed a workplace in certain circumstances, eg, an area which provides access to the working area.
